5 tips to make your living room more warm and welcoming

The living room is always the center of attention in any household. Whether it’s to greet guests or to just cozy up and have a relaxing day off with your loved ones, the living room is the one room that takes center stage.

For this reason alone, the living room should be more inviting for guests and more comfortable for your everyday leisure. It should be your comfort zone where you can just kick back and relax after a long and hectic day at work.

Here are a few tips you can use to make the most out of your living room and to make it more warm and welcoming for guests.

1. Who wouldn’t love those extra pillows?

Adding a few pillows on your living room furniture goes a long way, not only in terms of that extra comfort, but also gives the living room a whole new, yet pleasing, aesthetic.

To add a colorful aesthetic, you may not need to purchase colorful sofas or tables, just colorful pillows will do. Choose pillows of your favorite color, place them on your living room furniture sets like sofas and couches and see the almost instantaneous difference.

2. Experiment with that wallpaper!

To complete the living room aesthetic, pick out few different wallpapers that you like and experiment away!

Mix and match colors, add the same kind or even two different wallpapers on different walls, maybe add one on the ceiling as well to truly make the living room feel complete.

3. Let there be light

A well-lit living room is a happy living room. Experiment with different kinds of lighting. Choose one or even choose a few kinds that set the mood you are going for. Pick a dim light for relaxation and a bright one for reading. Go crazy!

4. De clutter regularly

Over time, you will see that there would be unnecessary items cluttered around the living room. The best way to avoid that is to keep cabinets nearby.

Take time off every week or every few days (Depending on the need) to de-clutter your living room. This process not only helps in keeping the living room neat and clean but will also help in maintaining that perfect aesthetic you have always wanted.

 5. When life gives you walls…

Utilize those walls with artwork, mirrors, family portraits, etc. to make the living room look more lived in and welcoming.

Most guests would always welcome a few family pictures and those can even be a source of conversation or an icebreaker.

With these tips, you can transform your living room into a warm and friendly place for not just your guests, but for you as well!
